9/11 Day of Service 2025
9/11 Day of Service 2025
Hanover County is participating in a national day of service on September 11.
Hanover County is looking to partner with local nonprofit organizations for the annual 9/11 National Day of Service, observed this year on Thursday, September 11. Nonprofits are encouraged to submit volunteer projects that offer meaningful ways for County employees and community members to give back and make a difference.
Participating organizations simply need to supply the materials, and volunteers will take care of the rest.
Last year, 200 County employees worked alongside community volunteers, contributing a combined 538 hours of service through 19 projects across Hanover. Projects included delivering meals to seniors, assisting in cleanup and beautification efforts, and assembling picnic tables for elementary schools.
Hanover works with the Community Foundation to connect organizations with volunteers through the CFEngage platform. All interested nonprofit organizations must attend a virtual information session to learn more about the timeline as well as how to identify, create and post their projects.
