Note:

  • While Brightspeed has begun their installation of fiber on the west side of the County, All Points Broadband will begin installing their main fiber lines on the east side of the County because that is where they have received the most electric pole attachment approvals from Dominion Energy. As more approvals from Dominion and REC are provided, the faster the work can be performed as it moves westward.
  • There will not be a fee to connect from the main fiber to your home if you connect within 12 months of service being available, however, there is a standard $99 fee from All Points to cover install costs at your home.  After 12 months, there will be an unknown connection charge from the Internet Service Provider (ISP) to install fiber from the main fiber to your home and an unknown install cost at your home.  It is recommended you connect once service is available.
  • This project will connect approximately 95% of the County. We have an application in for State Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) funding to complete the final 5%. Our goal is to provide opportunities to connect “all” of Hanover County!
  • Please know that Hanover County does not own any fiber lines, they are all privately owned.

Potential Risks for Delays:

  • Inclement weather impacts
  • Easement acquisition
  • Third party utilities failing to move their infrastructure in a timely manner
  • Delays from the State
