      • Nov. 13, 2024: Hanover County Board of Supervisors voted to accept the surplus parcels

  • County ownership includes the existing school, gym, ballfields and miscellaneous outbuildings as well as a deed for the War Memorial.

Next Steps:

  • The County now has ownership of the properties and will continue to work with the current users to make sure their needs are met (i.e. the Boy Scouts and American Legion).
  • We plan on hosting two community meetings, Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, February 5 from 5-7 p.m. in the Henry Clay gym to gather feedback, thoughts and perspectives on the future use of the properties. We hope you can attend one of the meetings but if you can't, please submit your input in the box below.
  • Spring/Summer
    • Once community feedback has been gathered, County staff will present the information to Facility Committee and Community Development Committee for guidance.
    • Ultimately, staff will present feedback from the community and guidance from the committee’s to the Board of Supervisors.
